Dear Audrey,
If I had to guess right now, I’d say you’ll grow up to be:
- a) a comedian (I know I say you’re a serious kid, but you have incredible timing and know how to play to an audience)
- b) a model (in addition to those amazing cheeks, you LOVE looking at yourself and being the center of attention)
- c) a personal trainer (you’re so strong and have fabulous form with your push-ups)
Out of the clear blue, as I folded laundry and gave you some tummy time…without any fanfare…
YOU ROLLED.
Front to back, which is bizarre because you’d shown no interest in it, despite all of your attempts to go from back to front. Even better? Daddy and I both saw it happen! Of course, neither of us had a camera or phone handy (that almost never happens) so it is undocumented. And you have not done it since.
It was a big development week in many ways. You’re now able to sit unsupported for several seconds, and if you’re on the bed or a cushy yoga mat, you can sit even longer.
I think you’re going to start sucking your thumb. You’ve always liked putting your hand in your mouth, but especially when you’re sleepy, you’ve started to narrow it down to just your thumb. Speaking of sleepy — you’ve needed some extra snuggling and attention this week at naptime. It’s been kind of nice to rock you the way I did when you were a tiny little thing.
You’re also interacting with everything, both near and far. You started to giggle and laugh at the dogs, especially when they bark at the windows.
And if my phone is near you, you have to grab at it. You even took a bizarre round of selfies this week. Future blogger, for sure.
Oh, and you won’t stop trying to eat the remote.
Maybe you’ll be a TV producer like your mommy?
Not a single day goes by that you don’t make us laugh, especially now that you are getting more free with your smiles and giggles. And while you’re starting to get big and strong, you’re still my little baby.
You turn five months old next week — on Grammy’s birthday! — and your birth seems like a distant memory. Every day with you is a blessing and we love you so, so much.
Love,
Mommy

And love from Grammy!
