You turned 4 months on Wednesday and on Wednesday night, it’s as if you decided to fully embrace the next stage of development: you woke up at 3 a.m. for an hour-long singing and dance party (sleep regression much?) AND you came THISCLOSE to rolling over. All of a sudden. I’d just remarked to Grammy last weekend that you were not showing any signs of wanting to make that move.
Proud of you, my little peanut. Even if it was a long, long Thursday thanks to lack of sleep.
Speaking of Thursday, it was your first Valentine’s Day and Daddy and I took full advantage of your offer of free hugs. You don’t love it when we kiss you (“leave me ALONE, Mom!”) but you love to give us sloppy, gummy kisses.
And you’re still in the habit of taking anything that’s near you — a toy, a piece of paper, my shirt — and pushing it into your mouth.
You’re getting better with your aim, although you still can’t quite to get your paci in your mouth. Your eye, cheek and hair? Those are your usual landing spots.
We said goodbye to Grammy on Sunday but got to talk to her and Grampy over video chat for his birthday. They sure do LOVE you, kid!
You still aren’t able to sit up on your own, but you need a lot less support from us. If you’re in my lap, I can brace you gently with my legs and you can hold yourself up for quite a while before starting to tip over. And now that we have an activity mat (should have gotten one sooner) I can see how much you like grabbing at your toes and swatting at the toys that hang down.
You are such a hit, baby girl. We took you to a dinner party this week and you were the star of the show — you even napped when I needed you to!
And perhaps the biggest event of the week: your 4-month doctor visit! You got shots (booo) and measurements. Drumroll, please…
- 25″ tall (75th percentile)
- 15.2 pounds (75th percentile)
- 16.25″ head circumference (5oth percentile)
We love you so much.
