BabyBug’s Beta!

Has it set in yet? No freaking way. I can’t even bring myself to think in pregnancy time yet — I still consider today 16DPO, not 3w5d.

But I am pregnant. Unmistakably, undeniably pregnant with something that’s still smaller than a poppy seed.

Because I’m still being seen by my reproductive endocrinologist (and will be through the 7-week ultrasound), I think I get slightly more aggressive checkups than most, which is just fine with me.

So on Friday, I had blood work to confirm my at-home BFPs, and to get a baseline HCG level. Today, I went back for blood work and the numbers are great.

  • Friday: 44
  • Monday: 179

They wanted to see the numbers at least double — and they sure did! They more than tripled! Of course, I’m now having lots of fun making DH go pale by telling him that probably means we’re having triplets.

I also had my TSH levels tested, which came back perfectly normal at 1.6. I’m really pleased about that because hypothyroidism runs in my family.

By the way, I told DH on Saturday, and his reaction was priceless. To say he’s happy is an understatement; as it would be to say that he’s just a weeeeee bit nervous. That makes two of us.

So, I have another three weeks to sit tight until our next big hurdle, and that’s the first ultrasound. Please let that bring good news!

P.S. I’m staying on the progesterone supplements through the first trimester. An expensive but totally worthy investment in our BabyBug!
