I’m excited to announce that Open Enrollment for Florida Prepaid is now…open!
Lucas and I are still finalizing our decision, but we’re leaning toward the 2-year college plan or the 1-year university plan (costing us roughly $50-60/month for Audrey, according to the cost calculator here). Baby #2 is not yet born, but the enrollment period runs through February 29, 2016, so we’re probably going to WAIT until her arrival so we can consider starting plans for each of them).
Just as a reminder: open enrollment is the only time each year when families can purchase one of the Florida Prepaid College Board’s five prepaid tuition plans and prepaid dormitory plans. If your child attends an out-of-state college or private college, the plan will pay the same amount as it would pay at a public college or university in Florida. Every Prepaid Plan is guaranteed by the State of Florida.
Even more exciting: 10 lucky students will win a 2-year Florida College Scholarship, provided by Florida Prepaid College Foundation.
Each scholarship is valued at $9,200 — cha ching cha ching — and it’s super easy to enter. You can participate daily, and the more entries you get, the better your chances of winning are. And by the way, in addition to the 2-Year Florida College Plans, there will also be 10 weekly prize winners (a total of 50 over the five-week program).
The program runs from October 12, 2015, through November 15, 2015, at 11:59 p.m. Just visit floridaprepaidscholarshipprogram.com for Sweepstakes Rules and details.
Can’t wait to see if you win? I have an awesome promo code for you to use that will give you a Florida Prepaid gift, when you open a new plan. The code is: BLOG1516. Make sure you include it when you enroll, so you get this goodie.
Good luck and happy saving!
